Johnson Lifts, India’s leading manufacturer of Elevators and Escalators, was started 56 years ago in 1963. Providing elevator products right from small home lifts to large elevators for commercial buildings and public utility, Johnson Liftswas the 1st company to have its own manufacturing facility for escalators in India. With their first plant in Vyasarpadi, Ambattur, Poonamallee, subsequently at Nagpur and then at Oragadam, Johnson is the only company in India that has been manufacturing commercial Escalators since 2009.

Providing a comprehensive product range in elevators and escalators, Johnson Lifts has had an exponential growth in the last 10 years and have provided infrastructure to public service projects like 12 Metro Projects, 25 Airports and over 800 + Elevators in Railway Stations.

Johnson Lifts – No. 1 position in India
Despite Multi-Nationals having entered the Indian market, Johnson Lifts continues to No.1 in India and is manufacturing over 12000 units annually.
From two factories in 2009, Johnson Lifts has expanded to four factories in 2019, with a combined manufacturing capacity of 16000+ units annually. Looking at the surge in demand for elevators, JLPL started an additional integrated factory at Sengadu with Automated machines in 2018.
With their presence in 5 overseas countries Nepal,Srilanka,Tanzania,Dubai and Myanmar, their coverage in India is through 54 branches and is a 10,000 strong employee organisation.

“In 2009, JLPL clocked a turnover of 419 crores with 5200 units and its exponential growth in 2019 has skyrocketed it to 1850+ crores of around 12000+ units, thereby ensuring a market leading share of over 20% plus” Mr. Yohan K John, Director.

Presence in Karnataka
The vertical transportation industry in Karnataka is 6000+ units, of which Johnson Lifts being 1100 units. Holding a market share of 18% in Karnataka, their business in residential projects is 65%, commercial projects is 15% and infrastructure is 20%.

“Johnson Lifts are expanding their presence geographically by setting up offices in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities like Mysore, Hubli, Gulbarga, Dvavangere, Belgaum and Mangalore. To cater to this market, JLPL launched competitive models to accommodate elevator in compact lift shaft size and machine roomless elevators” said Mr. Albert Dhiraviyam, Country Head-Marketing. In the last 3 years, they have established additional service centers, introduced mobile service van and implemented real time smart phone service thereby rendering timely quality service to customers.
“We have been part of the developmental project in Karnataka in the Phase 1 of Bengaluru Metro Rail in which, we have provided 225 escalators valuing to 190+ crores. We are happy to be granted the Additional requirement in Phase 2 of the Metro Rail project comprising 225 escalators valuing to 210+ crores. The central government schemes on major Urban Infra Structure Development programmes in India like Metro Rail Projects, UDAN – Regional Airport development and connectivity scheme and the modernization of Airports, Railways Stations, Bus Terminals and Foot Over Bridges at important junctions has given us a great opportunity for heavy duty escalators used in Mass Transportation systems. We have installed over 200 Heavy duty escalators at various metro stations in Bangalore and over 15+ heavy duty escalators installations under (SWR) South Western Railway Stations and 2 installations in Foot over bridges,” said Mr. Ramesh Chari, General Manager, Karnataka.
